Rise Together Pathways Program
Rise Together offers 12-week programing for limited-income and/or first-generation HS Seniors before (Summer) and during (Fall/Spring) their senior year. Programming consists of intensive assistance with the college search, application, essay writing, standardized test prep, financial aid and transition to college processes.
Pathways Programming is offered at NO COST to students and their families. High School Students are highly encouraged to apply. All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and through a wholistic review process. If you are on the fence, APPLY! There is no cost for submitting an application.

Senior Summer and Fall Programming
Weeks 1-4: College Search and Identity Development
- Academic course review and map out of the remainder of your high school experience
- Explore the areas you are most interested in studying and discover areas you may not have considered
- Work on our custom college fit comparison sheet to identify colleges you are interest in applying for and that would be a good fit
- Identify your college timeline and come up with a reasonable workflow for completing your college applications
- Explore your passions and identity through writing workshops that help to refine your college essay topics
- Discuss the traps and pitfalls of the college essay writing process
- Receive personalized one-on-one and group support on your college applications
- Walk through the financial aid information in manageable chunks to help you understand how to fund your college experience
- Attend guest speaker sessions to broaden your network and find out about internship/ research opportunities
- Refine your resume
Senior Spring Programming
Week 1-4: Wellness Focus and Tutoring
- The waiting period can be the most stressful and academically straining portion of your high school career. Work with college mentors to support your wellness and receive academic support.
- Develop a sense of belonging, discuss imposter syndrome and examining the influence of social comparison.
- Deciding on the college you want to attend can be a daunting task. Financial aid offers, family responsibilities, academic fit, food, college culture, clubs/ Greek life, volunteer, job and research opportunities all make the college decision process difficult. Work with a college mentor and qualified Rise Together counselors to walk through the decision making process and decipher financial aid packages.
- Create your college budget and attend financial literacy workshops
- Choosing classes/ mapping out your college journey
- Picking a roommate (expectations, norm setting, navigating conflict, conflict resolution)
- Securing Financial Aid/ grants/ loans
- College Vision Board- your dorm room, packing list, and ideal college experience
- Learning to write emails and initiate contact with Professors
- Identify the social, academic, and mental health supports at the college you choose
- Final resume build
- Interview practice
- Internship/ Research/ Job exploration for the summer after your first year
- Attend student panels on the dos/ don'ts of college
