Parents
Parents best understand their student, but oftentimes families are looking for support to better understand the college application process and identify financial aid/ scholarship opportunities. Rise Together collaborates with families to strength a student’s high school experience, identify colleges/universities that best meet the student’s needs, and prepare students to thrive at the college level. Further, when looking toward college, parents are often concerned about their student’s readiness, what questions to ask when selecting a college, supports that exist at the college level, and how to support their student's transition to life beyond high school.
IEP, 504, NCAA Clearinghouse, scholarships, financial aid, personal essays….these are all great areas to get expert guidance.
Allow our professional staff with decades of experience help your student develop academic independence, confidence, sense of direction and a solid plan that will launch their college career.

Consulting
Rise Together conducts workshops for parent groups including PTAs. Workshops discuss strategies on how parents can collaborate with their student, school educators and college professionals. Workshops incorporate real examples of high school students so parents can learn from the presenter’s decades of experience in the education space. Participants will learn key elements of a student’s college search including what to look for during their college visits, how to ensure the college can accommodate their learning style and potential, whether (and when) to consider disclosing a learning difference during the admissions process, and how to make sure students share what the college needs to know in order to make an informed decision about their application. Participants will review a case study from an admissions point of view to learn how authentic information can help the student shine.
Additionally, Rise Together conducts one-on-one sessions with individual students, parents and/or families to walk through their unique circumstance and provide guidance targeted to their goals.

Rise Together Pathways Program
High school juniors and seniors do not need to work alone when striving to reach their college and career goals. First-generation, low-income student who participated Rise Together's remote 12-week Pathways program reported 100% confidence with the college application process after the program. Teams of trained college mentors and Rise Together professional staff members create small group and individual matches that are tailored to meet 11-12th grade students' college guidance needs. Throughout the program, six guest speakers are invited to speak with students so the college and financial aid process is demystified and manageable. Speakers often include admissions counselors, financial aid counselors, college faculty members, career professionals, school counselors and QuestBride and/or Posse representatives.
High school student cohorts are formed knowing that managing the college admissions process with others is more fun and less stressful than working alone. By the end of each semester, a student has a team of support and a clear vision of how to further their journey from high school to college.
