​High school students had the opportuntity to reflect on a Service Day project that they planned and Rise Together coordinated. HS students mentored  students at 4 Charlottesville City elementary schools and attended a college panel and free lunch at UVA.

I enjoyed the partnership with Rise Together this year. I think the students, for the most part, responded well to the facilitators and found the time with them to be beneficial. In planning ahead for next year (specifically with the rising seniors), I know that they will need a lot more assistance with college applications and essays because of the way this school year ended. Having college workshop days will definitely be needed. Other lessons/activities that align with AVID objectives or topics that we address (time management, communication (with teachers), stress management, self-advocacy, etc.) will also be helpful. Overall, this was a great experience. Thank you for working with us!
